JooJoo tablet misses ship date, no update as to a new one
Avery Brooks, better known as Capt. Sisko on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, did a commercial a few years back asking where his flying car was. “I was promised flying cars, I don’t see any flying cars. Why?”
Well, adapt that to today and you can say, “I was promised a JooJoo. I don’t see any JooJoos. Why?”
Back in Dec., as the whole CrunchPad/JooJoo debacle unfolded, Fusion Garage CEO Chandra Rathakrishnan proclaimed that the JooJoo tablet would ship within 8 to 10 weeks. Well, here we are at the end of February, and there are no JooJoos to be seen in the hands of consumers.
Back on Feb. 3, Mr. Rathakrishnan told Engadget that the tablet was in production and on schedule to ship by the end of this month. When Fusion Garage is contacted now about the ship date, the only reply is “no comment.”
So, where is it? Next month sees the reported release of the iPad, will the JooJoo hit before what will probably be its biggest competitor? We’d tell you if we could, but for now all we can say is, “no comment.”

Ha! I knew it. Vaporware, plain and simple. I’m willing to bet the company (Fusion Garage was it?) is comprised of exactly two people in their parent’s basement. Who’s ever heard of Fusion Garage anyway?
