Conan changes a Twitter user’s life

Conan changes a Twitter user's lifeCelebrity tweets took a new and unexpected turn this week when talk-show host and reclusive Twitter user Conan O’Brien singled out one random person to follow, bringing change into her life.

The power of social networking has joined with the power of a once and future talk-show host, all of it concentrating on a single female Twitter user. O’Brien, who has more followers than you can shake a fast-talking schtick at, has suddenly decided to follow another Twitter user for the first time. Now the hordes of Conan Twitter followers are almost as focused on Conan’s single followee as they are on the talk-show star himself, which may be exciting, or perhaps disconcerting, for her but we’ll have to wait to find out for sure what changes come into the life of Sarah Killen.

That is the name of the Twitter user that O’Brien selected to be the first (and so far only) person that he follows on the wildly popular social networking site. His first tweet about Ms. Killen was “I’ve decided to follow someone at random. She like peanut butter and gummy dinosaurs. Sarah Killen, your life is about to change.” It is believed that Ms. Killen lives in Michigan. It is known that her Twitter account resides at twitter.com/lovelybutton. And, according to a CNET story, Ms. Killen wants the world to know that “I love to smile and have fun in life. I think that anyone and anything can be forgiven, and we should all just love and be.”

There will probably be more information aboiut her very soon, as the power of the press is used to uncover more about lovelybutton. She will probably find it difficult to hide from her 15 minutes of fame, and she may have no desire to do so. For now, though, while Ms. Killen is still a random and unknown person, we can all enjoy her status as an question mark about to be bathed in the light of a television celebrity, before we have reached the point of knowing way too much about her.
