Apple iPad accessories start to see delivery windows moving
While the long-awaited Apple iPad missed its original launch window by about a week, it looks like those that are wanting to add some accessories to their sleek new device may have to wait a bit longer than that for them to arrive.
When Apple began taking orders last week for its new tablet device known as the iPad, it looked like all of the accessories the company had planned would be shipping close to the same time as the device itself, or at least in the same month. According to some instances pointed out by 9to5Mac, things are not looking so rosy any more for accessories to show up very close to when your device does.
The first slippage seems to have been the very much needed iPad case. Originally scheduled to ship the same day as the iPad, its shipment date has now moved to mid-April. This could be bad news for those who want to keep their brand new gadget in the best shape possible.
Another major shipment move is the highly desired iPad Keyboard Dock. Serving as both a charging dock and a full-sized QWERTY keyboard to be used with the device, the shipment date has moved from “Late April” to some unknown time in May. Seeing as this has been one of the most talked about accessories, this is not a good thing for those who specifically wanted it so they could turn the iPad into a business device.
Completely missing from the store at this time is the connection kit for attaching a digital camera or SD card to the iPad. There is no indication of when this kit may finally be available for order, let alone when it may be delivered.
Things aren’t looking too hot for those people who wanted to get to work right away with this new device. It looks like patience will be the name of the game for now.
