Kindle software update brings folders, Twitter and Facebook
Owners of the Amazon Kindle are slowly getting a new software update to version 2.5 that is bringing them some features that not only make it easier to use, but also gives them whole new uses for the device.
Amazon has released version 2.5 of its Kindle software to select few users, and it expects to roll it out to everyone by the end of the month. According to the company, some of the new features include the oft requested ability to group books into collections. Instead of having to scroll through all of your books to find the one you want, you will now be able to group them by author, genre and so on.
If you don’t want anyone else using your Kindle, you will also now be able to password protect the device, and PDFs will be receiving pan and zoom capabilities.
The Kindle is also set to get a bit more social with Twitter and Facebook integration, which will allow you to send favorite passages from books you are reading out to your friends and family.
All Kindle owners should receive a notification of the update by the end of May.
