Doodle 4 Google 2010 winner showcased
Google’s Doodles took on a new life this month with one featuring a playable version of Pacman. And that probably won’t be beaten for a long time. But the logo will continue to be changed regularly on the Google homepage, beginning with the winner of this year’s Doodle 4 Google contest.
Google runs its Doodle 4 Google contest every year, with 2010 no exception. And it has this week announced the winner who best encapsulated the theme of ‘If I Could Do Anything, I Would …’

The winning entry is titled Rainforest Habitat, and is the work of third-grader Makenzie Melton from El Dorado Springs in Missouri. She beat 33,000 other kids across the U.S. who entered, and has won a $15,000 college scholarship, $25,000 for a new computer lab at her school, and a netbook. Google obviously couldn’t stretch the budget to a notebook or iPad.
The biggest prize, however, is that the design appeared on Google.com for the duration of today. Which means millions of people saw Melton’s handiwork.
