Steve Jobs iPhone 4 email a fake
If only Steve Jobs has responded to an Apple customer in this way. Unfortunately, it appears he didn’t. Which is a shame.
You’re probably aware that Apple CEO Steve Jobs has taken to answering emails from customers on a regular basis. You’re also probably aware of the reception issues plaguing the iPhone 4 since release. Put them together and you have the makings of a good story.
Unfortunately, it appears the conversation first reported by BGR isn’t as it first seems. Because the following responses came not from Jobs but from someone calling himself Tom.
No, you are getting all worked up over a few days of rumors. Calm down.
You are most likely in an area with very low signal strength.
You may be working from bad data. Not your fault. Stay tuned. We are working on it.
Retire, relax, enjoy your family. It is just a phone. Not worth it.
That last email is a particularly dismissive response to a loyal Apple customer’s concerns over widespread issues of the iPhone 4. But as it was Tom and not Jobs who penned these responses this is a much less juicy story than it had the makings to be.
Unless, that is, you don’t believe Apple’s PR department…

I wish it wasn’t fake to be honest. I was hoping the software fix would have correct the reception issue. Oh well, what can you do?
