Gaga beats Obama to 10m Facebook fans
Dressing strangely, talking crap, and singing catchy tunes is obviously a bigger deal than being President of the United States of America. At least when it comes to capturing fans on social networking site Facebook.
Last week saw insanely popular singer Lady Gaga overtake U.S. President Barack Obama in the Facebook fans stakes. And while he’s stalled at 9.5 million, Gaga has gone on to hit the 10 million fans milestone, becoming the first living person to do so.
With more than 10 million people openly admitting to being fans of Lady Gaga, she can be pretty confident her next album will sell by the truckload. Lady Gaga also has almost 5 million Twitter followers. The question is whether she will utilize these social networking connections in the correct way.
She was beaten to the 10 million mark by the late Michael Jackson, Family Guy, and Facebook itself, amongst others. I don’t have any fans on Facebook, just 82 friends. Which is rather depressing.
