We have done the looking for you and, though not all of these will be your cup of tea, you should be able to find a few fun and free ways to while away some hours in the list below!
Continuity – This is a very cool Flash game that was started as a school project and turned into a free gaming rage. Continuity players navigate seemingly random mazes by controlling the character and the structure of the game world. The game features 32 tiers with increasing levels of difficulty.
Splinter Cell – This is actually a series of games based on the Tom Clancy books. Some of these games are always playable free online, while others must be purchased. These are basically first person shooter games that will challenge your ability to survive as a master NSA agent in a world of terrorist intrigue and danger.
Desktop Tower Defense – Desktop TD is a game is played on a map resembling an office desktop. Players have to stop a set number of enemies, (“creeps”) from reaching a set point on that playing field. This is done by building and continually upgrading towers that shoot at, damage and kill the enemy before they are able to reach their objective.
Red Remover – This game is of the falling tiles genre that has been very popular for years. In this one, you need to remove all the red squares without allowing any of the green ones to fall through. That may seem easy, but 45 levels of difficulty and a whimsical gravity generator make it more difficult.
Zelderex Online- This is a multiplayer strategy game played in your browser. You must assume the role of a great leader among 5 races seeking to control the galaxy. You invent your own path to victory by military might, economic development, player relations, or other strategies. You are one of the hugely powerful figures, placed on a planet you have to control, despite being opposed by other opposition leaders on the planet.
Atomic Puzzle – This one is not your basic flash game. In Atomic Puzzle, your game is not to shoot to kill, but to disassemble molecular models by clicking on atoms in the correct order, collapsing them to nothingness. It sounds different, and it is.
Freeciv – Freeciv is exactly what it sounds like: a free knockoff of the wildly popular Civilization game series. Just like in the original, you must use strength and strategy to build your nation into the one that controls the game and the world, against enemies trying to do the same thing.
Paradise Paintball – This is another first person shooter, but with a twist. You’re shooting paintball guns in a tropical paradise. There is enough choice in the game, in terms of weapons, actions, and strategy, to make it good for a few hours of play. Grab a shotgun and get going!
Kings Island – This is another role-playing game, in which you slash your way through an island to find prizes, dangers, and surprises. Not much was spared in the way of obstacles against you and tools to help you in this one.
Quantum Legacy – This Flash game takes place on a distant planet named, which is being colonized by two rival earth-based organizations. They quickly discover a form of time-travel, and begin to use it for personal gain. As the game goes on, each side re-writes the timeline in order to annihilate one another, creating time-warp havoc.
