Man watches robbery from his iPhone With the emergence of the smartphone home security technology has come a long way. Recently, a man was able to catch robbers breaking into his home miles away from his mobile phone.

It’s amazing what can be achieved with mobile apps these days. According to ABC News, Vince Hunter was able to watch robbers break into his home over 1,500 miles away while visiting relatives.

Hunter received a text message to his iPhone indicating that his motion sensors at his house have been triggered. Using an app called iCam, Hunter was able to watch the whole events unfold.

The police arrived after the robbers took off after the security alarm was triggered. Hunter took three Web cams and set them up throughout the house so that he could monitor things remotely. He also downloaded the app iCam for only five dollars.

It’s interesting to think that something that might have once been costly to do and reserved for the rich is now possible for under $10.
