Rumor: Cisco sniffing around Skype for a potential purchaseGoogle is continuing to work on trying to make its Gmail product that much more of an essential tool in your every day life, and what better way is there to do that then to become your personal assistant?

Gmail is already known to have one of the best spam filters on the market, but now Google is applying that same technology to sorting out your most important e-mails. Called your Priority Inbox, this new tool will make sure you always have quick and easy access to all of the e-mails that it feels you will find to be the most important.

While it is not currently rolled out to all users, the video embeded below will give you a good overview of how it works.

The big question at this point is if it will roll out to any of the company’s other clients such as on the Android or iOS operating systems. While it’s a nice feature, it becomes a bit confusing when you hop between platforms on a regular basis.

For those of you who use the Web interface to access your e-mail, this should be a welcome addition, and a quick way to see which e-mails are sure to grab your attention immediately.
