Remember cell phones were huge? I don’t, but it’s 2008 and starting on July 1st, it’ll be illegal to talk on a cell phone and drive in the great, golden state of California unless you’re wearing a wireless headset. The restrictions are worse for minors. Live in another state? It still matters.

Last year, the web started buzzin’ that Google would enter the mobile phone arena, but no one knew what that meant. Google is a different kind of company, which means consumers, speculators, and investors were expecting something, well, different. Many assumed it would be a “gPhone”, an evolved hardware device featuring a Google OS and applications, but the story behind Android is hardly about a device or an OS. Instead, you’ll find the typical Google train of thought at work: if it sucks for consumers, make it better for them and make some money in the process.

Remember that stupid fee wireless carriers hand out like free lollipops when you try cancel your contract early? Yeah, it’s the early termination fee. T-Mobile is reducing the lame-factor of its ETF, but I’m still shaking my head in disgust at the company for having one.

Wow, this is ridiculous. Philadelphia is deploying 3D decals at 100 locations in order to trick drivers into slowing down, giving drivers the illusion that it’s a speed bump when it’s actually flat!

Apple unveiled its Snow Leopard OS — a modified version of OS X — at the recent World Wide Developer’s Conference. It failed to impress the crowd with any new major features, and it actually looks and handles almost exactly like Leopard. In fact, it’s practically useless for most of us right now, so why is it so important? We think it has a lot of potential to significantly influence the future of the PC world in a really, really, really, crazy way.
