If you follow the handset market at all, you will have heard that T-Mobile recently unveiled its flagship device, the HTC/Google G1, to coincide with the official roll-out of the network’s 3G high-speed data network. What you might have missed is that the G1 isn’t T-Mobile’s only touch-screen phone now, and the Behold has been quietly gathering a following outside of the G1′s limelight.

Though Apple might have hoped to lock down the market with the low-priced iPhone 3G, apparently Verizon customers aren’t willing to sacrifice service just to own Apple’s wonderchild. Those who refused to switch to AT&T have been rewarded with a competitively-priced flagship touchscreen of their own, namely the Blackberry Storm.

Sure, your boss is looking over payroll to decide who is expendable, and your 401k took a sickening turn for the worse when Wall Street got greedy, but look on the bright side: all those shiny handsets you’ve lusted after have magically become quite affordable overnight. Is the recent noticeable price drop in flagship cellular devices a generic shift towards increased competition between national carriers, or just the byproduct of a bombed economy?

With the U.S. economy in need of dire help and employers cinching up the payroll belts, the job market is effectively a barren wasteland, even for those with college and professional degrees. However, your inability to land that dream job may just mean you need to start marketing yourself in a number of ways that are so simple you’ll kick yourself for not doing so earlier, before you started living on Ramen noodles and Koolaid packets.

While phones, gadgets, laptops, mp3 players and other gadgets are lots of fun to play with, their price tags certainly are the least appealing aspect, especially considering the condition of today’s market. HTC now has an affordable alternative touchscreen mobile handset for those of you who refuse to sacrifice your lunch money to own the latest and the greatest.

Aside from the fact that we at Blorge have something of a penchant for all things gadgetry, normally the announcement of a new handset unveiling wouldn’t warrant too much attention. In this case, an official date being set for the release of both HTC’s aesthetically-controversial Dream handset and Google’s Android platform calls for something more along the lines of an Olympic games opening ceremony.

Though Blackberry’s newest handset to still not quite be on the market isn’t a flashy touch screen or anything like the Storm, the Kickstart, a flip-style variant of the Pearl, is almost ready for release. In fact, it is so close to release that you can register for the phone on T-Mobile’s website…but it isn’t on sale just yet.

It has been a long time coming, but the much-anticipated U.S. release of HTC’s newest handsets, the Touch Diamond and Touch Pro, is almost palpable. Though Sprint was the first kid on the block to announce its carrying of the HTC Touch Diamond, the CDMA carrier will also definitively be carrying the Touch Pro along with GSM carrier AT&T.

There’s very little as beautiful as witnessing the birth of a newborn (not in the literal sense, as I don’t really have the stomach for it). Maybe the next best thing is learning that HTC is rounding out the Touch line with yet another variation, this particular one having now two (count ‘em, two) keyboards for those who won’t settle for one flavor…they want the whole menu!

It is fairly plain to see that cell phones are, at this point, generally considered a necessary commodity for day-to-day living. What you might not know, however, is that it isn’t just any phones that are making their ways into consumer pockets as of late.

For those that have stuck with T-Mobile through thick and thin since the company’s inception, this is definitely the year those customers will be granted their glorious rewards. Though it was some time coming, T-Mobile will finally be receiving its first legitimate touchscreen-only phone, the Samsung T919, and for not being “smart,” this thing makes up for it in raw, unadulterated sex appeal.

For the longest time, the biggest thing going for T-Mobile as a wireless carrier was a mix of the best customer service in the country along with low service plan prices. Now T-Mobile is, for the second year in a row, ranked behind competing carriers, and what were once appealing pricing plans are no longer that impressive, as T-Mobile’s data network and service quality justify the low price tags; luckily, there is a savior on the horizon.

Everyone has that list of people who call your cell phone you’d rather not talk to until some indefinite point in time, and those same people never fail to leave you voicemails. If you’re like me, and you don’t relish sifting through countless voicemails, you should be pleased to know that Verizon is adding a visual voicemail service to its lineup, and get this: it’s actually reasonably priced!
