Taking care of a baby can be difficult, especially when you have no idea why the baby is crying. It seems like someone has gone through great lengths to remedy this problem by developing a handy new app for the iPhone. Apparently, this new app will be able to translate your baby’s cries and also offers a remedy.

Recently some sparks have been flying across the fashion and photoshop worlds when a controversial Ralph Lauren ad surfaced on two blogs. The picture depicted a woman with an inhumanly skinny body. Ralph Lauren went as far as to issue a DMCA letter to the sites ordering that the picture be taken down.

The idea of Internet addiction may seem funny but it has had tragic consequence for one Chinese teenager. After being sent to a clinic to overcome his Internet addiction, he was allegedly beaten to death by the people paid to supervise him through his course of treatment.

Bill Gates recently spoke at a conference in India, where he criticized the U.S. for being behind on data privacy, immigration and a centralized method for maintaining an individual’s information. Gates is currently working on developing an identification card system for India.

Vegetable oil is used in many foods and for cooking. Cavitation Technologies has developed what it calls the “Green D+ Plus Degumming” (GDP) chemical free system for refining vegetable oils. The GDP utilizes special patented nanotech technology to cut down on the time and cost for processing vegetable oil.

Students at an Alabama university are working on a project to teach cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques using the controller from a Nintendo Wii. The project has already attracted $50,000 in funding from the American Heart Association.

Toyota has tested a wheelchair that can be partially controlled through thought alone, with no need for body movement. It’s a way of using a new technology which drastically reduces the time it takes for a machine to read human brain waves.

Michael Jackson has died at the age of 50. He reportedly died after suffering from a cardiac arrest and falling into a coma on the way to hospital. The news was broken on a celebrity Web site, and spread via social networks such as Twitter and Facebook before traditional media would even touch the story.

Dan Lyons killed off Fake Steve Jobs and the satirical blog, The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs, last July when he secured a new job writing for Newsweek. Now, a year on, and in light of the real Steve Jobs having a liver transplant and making a comeback at Apple, Fake Steve Jobs has returned. As funny as ever.

If you’re an adult who doesn’t own a cellphone in this day and age then you are in the minority and likely to be a technophobe. Hell, mobile phones are even common amongst kids now, with many schools banning their use on the premises. So I wonder how they, and parents everywhere, will feel about a cellphone designed specifically for children as young as 4-years-old?

The environmental media has been saying that plastic drink bottles and promotional plastic water bottles with BPA (bisphenol A) are bad for us. A Harvard study has shown that drinking from plastic (polycarbonate) bottles increases the amount of BPA in your system 69 percent.
