Taking care of a baby can be difficult, especially when you have no idea why the baby is crying. It seems like someone has gone through great lengths to remedy this problem by developing a handy new app for the iPhone. Apparently, this new app will be able to translate your baby’s cries and also offers a remedy.

The Internet has ushered in a whole new environment for marketers to ply their trade, and some manage to do it in such a way that the lines between reality and fiction become very blurry indeed. So it is with 2012, the new movie from director Roland Emmerich, which portrays the end of the world as we know it, with Planet Earth going through a cataclysmic episode. The campaign has been so effective as to entice NASA to debunk it.

Love him or hate him, James Dyson has managed to invent and produce some brilliant products. After revolutionizing the humble vacuum cleaner by removing the need for a bag and making the task of drying one’s hands after visiting the bathroom a pleasure rather than a chore, Dyson and his engineers turned their attention to improving the design of the product which hasn’t changed in almost 120 years. The result: the bladeless Air Multiplier fan.

NASA’s space probe, LCROSS, intentionally crashed into the south pole of the moon around 7:30 am EDT this morning in hopes to retrieve data from the dust and particles that were kicked up from the event.

Sony recently revealed that the company was working on a power supply solution that will require no wires and could be transferred over the air. A device like a TV could be completely powered by an electrical source sent over the air. The technology sounds fantastic as it could open doors to devices with an unlimited power supply without the restriction of wires.

For many years creative minds have dreamed about a world where vehicles can drive autonomously without human interaction. It seems like those dreams are closer to coming true as one car manufacturer has been playing around with this idea. Nissan recently demonstrated a mini robotic car that can move in groups avoiding obstacles autonomously.

Two newspapers in Bangladesh printed public apologies after running an article using fake news organization, The Onion, as the source for news implying that the moon landing was a hoax. The two newspapers ran the news articles indicating that Neil Armstrong shocked everyone at a news conference by revealing that the moon landing was actually an “elaborate hoax.”

The issue of climate change is a complicated and controversial one. Some don’t believe it’s humanity’s fault, while some who do don’t really feel the need to do anything about it. But there are scientists, engineers, and scholars out there all the time trying to figure out ways we can help the planet cope. The latest ideas include artificial trees, algae-lined buildings, and white roofs, all designed to help slow down global warming.

When you hear the phrase – “phase change”, coffee cups don’t really pop to mind. Star trek fire arms and transporters are more the images conjured up. Scientists at Fraunhoffer Institute decided to use “phase change” materials (PCMs) to create the perfect coffee cup.

Since the industrial revolution, technology has been making our lives easier. While everything was mechanical and required a human operator the onus of responsibility and blame in the event of an accident or mishap lie squarely with either the operator or the inventor. But what if the technology is automated as it increasingly becoming. That’s a legal and ethical minefield that needs dealing with sooner rather than later.

In order to protect sensitive electronics from the frigid cold of Mars or traveling the universe, NASA worked with a number of different insulators and insulation products before settling on an Thermablok aerogel.
