Bullying during the old days used to be up close and personal. Victims were abused either physically or verbally by their bullies face to face, but things are a little different now. With the advent of technology, bullies now no longer have to confront their victims. They can intimidate and taunt their peers while hiding electronically, thus, make cyber bullying more prevalent.

With the influx of quality inexpensive GPS units flooding the market, it is hard to justify putting off that purchase you have longed to make for so long. Popular gadget blog Engadget has turned up some troubling information that might keep that GPS fund safely stashed a while longer: an Italian security consultancy has reported that intercepting and redirecting GPS signals is child’s play to the right hackers.

ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers has once again rejected the proposal for adult websites to use the .xxx suffix. In a 9 to 5 vote to deny on Friday, ICM was denied the registry. ICANN raised concerns that the proposal from ICM had far too many public policy concerns and could possibly change the role of what is currently a non-profit organization.

Adesso Systems, the developer of Tubes, an instant social networking application, announced that the application is now accessible to Mac users. By including full support for Parallels Desktop for Mac, Tubes now enables Mac users to create, connect and share via Tubes as easily as Windows users.

As I was working on my PC yesterday I received a number of odd emails from “admin@microsoft.com” inviting me to download Internet Explorer 7. I would never expect Microsoft to promote itself in this way, so I immediately suspected the emails were some kind of spam or a worm. Today Sophos has issued a warning about this very email: anyone who clicks on the embedded image contained in the email will download a file called ie7.0.exe which is infected by the W32/Grum-A worm.

Mircosoft unveiled a new mobile browsing technology called Deepfish, a downloadable app for Windows smart phone users, aims to preserve “the rich layout and full form of documents on mobile devices while providing novel ways of effectively navigating that content on small screens.”

Last Month, Dell launched a new website, Ideastorm, where visitors were encouraged to make suggestions about future Dell products; an option for pre-installed Linux on Dell desktops/notebooks quickly rose to the top of the list, and has consistently remained the #1 suggestion throughout Ideastorm’s history.

The service is geared to help customers lower their energy costs and increase their equipment efficiency, particularly for business requiring hyper-scale computing environments such as Web 2.0 firms or Internet search engines.

Yahoo plans to offer unlimited e-mail storage for free to 250 million webmail service users from May this year. The move is in response to exploding attachment sizes as consumers share more videos, photos and music via e-mail.

DigiTimes is reporting, through various sources in Taiwan, that Nintendo has altered the circuitry of the recently manufactured Wii gaming consoles; the bottom line - modding a system will no longer work and could potentially damage the entire console.
