Who gets big bailouts and even bigger subsidies? America’s biggest corporations, that’s who. Surprisingly or not, a list of the biggest scumbags includes Google, Hewlett-Packard, Yahoo, Wells Fargo and — you just keep laughing, Jeff — Amazon. Of course, it’s all perfectly “legal,” but galling nonetheless.

Designed to replace USB, FireWire and traditional display ports, the only computers equipped with this cool and under appreciated I/O technology have to date been Apple’s Macintosh. However, Intel’s building support into its upcoming Ivy Bridge chipsets and top computer and peripheral makers are getting onboard.

What’s on your laptop? If you’ve got an Apple, all smack talk about whether OS X Lion or Windows whatever is better has been obviated — today’s MacBooks can run either operating system equally well so you get the exact services, apps, etc. needed for every task. Still, some people still gotta ask the question — a.k.a. troll for page views.

Intel and AMD have long held the lion’s share of PC CPU chip manufacturing, with Intel being the clear winner and AMD being the also-ran. Apple’s entry has not changed that, but it has piqued a lot of interest.

If the supply chain is any indication, Apple may be getting ready to update its high-end MacBooks, the MacBook Pro, very soon. The new Mac laptops are rumored to be coming with much faster Intel Sandy Bridge CPUs.
