Earnings season brought a lot of bad news for old-line cellphone makers with Blackberry, Nokia and Motorola all disappointing. Although results among game makers are more of a mixed bag, Nintendo’s latest mobile offering has flopped and hard, confirming the on-going shift to smartphones and tablets.

Everyone fails eventually. It’s inevitable.
