And You Thought it was Hard to Get Treatment Under Your HMO
A disheartening story from Iraq:
More than two dozen doctors walked out of one of Baghdad’s busiest hospitals on Tuesday to protest what they said was abuse by Iraqi soldiers…
This must be horrifying. Not just to he Doctors who were threatened, but to the patients who were refused treatment during the strike. As hard as it is to perform under duress, don’t Doctors’ ethics compel them to provide treatment? (But, who am I to judge?) Seems like some pretty harsh circumstances in any case.
Iraqi blogger Riverbend wrote about something just like this back in March.
