Carter Backs Bush’s Seaport Plan

Strange bedfellows indeed, especially when (as a commenter at The Glittering Eye suggests) it seems that Rush Limbaugh is defending Bush’s decision.

However, I don’t like Carter’s logic:

”The overall threat to the United States and security, I don’t think it exists,” Carter said on CNN’s The Situation Room. “I’m sure the president’s done a good job with his subordinates to make sure this is not a threat.”

What? Carter is sure about this?

Well personally, I’m not very enamored with the president’s ability to do a good job delegating to or even picking his subordinates. And that’s come back to bite us in the ass on one occasion with extremely disastrous effects.

But if you want another perspective, take a look at that Glittering Eye post I linked to up top. They have a lot of compelling points, albeit Dave Schuler thinks any argument to the contrary is a red herring. Just read the comments and you’ll know what I’m talking about.
