The Iraqi Kurds I met who have been to Iran wanted me to know ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“ and they want you to know, as well ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“ that the distance between the Iranian people and their hideous regime is galactic. I heard the same refrain over and over again: ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œPersians are just like us.ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚? In other words, they are liberal, secular, pro-Western, and fed up with tyrants. ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œIranians love America,ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚? the Kurds told me. ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œThey have nothing to do with Ahmadinejad.ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚?
