It’s late, so forgive me a couple of quick pointer posts on the theme of law and justice.
First, William Jefferson was finally indicted. Democrats were most relieved, I suspect, while partisan Republicans competed to come up with the most extreme ethical standards imaginable in order to criticize the pace of the case.
Down Cuba way, meanwhile, a military judge threw out a couple of detainee cases while tossing a huge wrench in the military commission system — all because of a single missing word. But more interesting to me is a single question: What flaming idiot thought it was a good idea to put a child soldier on trial?
