National Journal asked Dem and Repub politicians what they think. The results are telling.

Dems: (Obama +13)
Clinton – 41%
Obama – 54%
No difference – 5%

Repubs: (Clinton +8)
Clinton – 53%
Obama – 45%
No difference – 3%

I really think Dems like Barack’s potential to bring people into the party, and they’re worried about Hillary’s well established negatives with swing voters. On the other hand, Repubs think there’s not much left to hit Hillary on, and know that Barack is an unknown quantity…and that means he’ll be a lot easier to attack.

So ultimately, I think both Dems and Repubs want Barack to run. It’s going to be one hell of a general election.
