Rasmussen: McCain, Obama Tied

1

With leaners
Obama – 46%
McCain – 46%

Without leaners
Obama – 43%
McCain – 43%

It’s all knotted up…and after leading by 5 or 6 points for the last month or so, Obama’s camp has to be wondering why these numbers are tightening. The only thing I can think is his recent move to the middle.

Here’s how Rasmussen sees the national electoral scene shaping up…

  • The Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator shows now Obama leading in states with 210 Electoral College votes while McCain leads in states with 171 votes.
  • When leaners are included, it’s Obama 293, McCain 227.
  • Recent state polling provided good news for Obama in Wisconsin and North Dakota while McCain improved his position slightly in Missouri and New Jersey.
