The defense from the candidate himself â€” heard only on â€œThe Viewâ€ because he hasnâ€™t held a news conference in more than a month â€” is to essentially assert that heâ€™s savaging Obama because the Illinois senator wouldnâ€™t agree to the series of town hall meetings McCain proposed at the end of the Democratic primary season.
â€œIf we had done what I asked Sen. Obama to do, because Iâ€™ve been in a lot of other campaigns where I have appeared with the opposition with the people and listened to their hopes and dreams and aspirations, I don’t think youâ€™d see the tenor of this campaign,â€ he said.
I guess this campaign really is all about Obama.
