Bike to Work Day 2009 in Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia

In case you didn’t know, this coming Friday, May 15th is Bike to Work Day 2009, the free annual event co-sponsored by Commuter Connections and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA). The good folks at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments have given CultureMob the heads up that several local politicos – including U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu, U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, and U.S. Representative Gerald Connolly (D-VA), along with “other elected officials and leaders” – will join up with the thousands of participating area bicyclists to ride onto their cubicles from 26 designated pit stops in Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia. They are as follows:

Washington, DC:

Freedom Plaza: 14th and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, 8:00 to 9:00 AM
Nationals Park: 1500 South Capitol St SE, 6:30 to 7:30 AM

Maryland:

Bethesda: Reed Street (corner of Woodmont and Bethesda Aves near the Capital Crescent Trail), 6:30 to 8:30 AM
National Institutes of Health: In front of Building One (1 Center Drive), 6:30 to 9:30 AM
Bowie Town Center: Outside the food court, 3860 Town Center Boulevard, 6:30 to 8:30 AM
