Godfathers of the alternative landscape, The Meat Puppets, have been resurrected and are now on tour to support their new album Sewn Together. They are performing at the Mad Hatter over the river in Covington, Kentucky on Tuesday, June 2. I had become a fan of the Meat Puppets after their appearance on the Nirvana unplugged special.

Over time the songs that Nirvana covered on that show have become some of my favorites and encouraged me to explore more of the Puppets back catalog. They are one of those bands that were too smart, quirky and ahead of their time – combining humor, social and political commentary into weird, swirling little alternative-pop songs. This poster was inspired by a little song off their self-titled first album called, “Litterbox.” No earth-shattering, deep-meaning in this one. Just good for a chuckle.
