Annie Clark, otherwise known as St. Vincent, is an up and coming indie rock darling, crafting captivating pop music over clever and macabre wordplay. Her latest album, Actor, will surely make many a “best of†list this year, overflowing with track after track of meticulous and innovative music.
The one-woman powerhouse rolls into Chicago while on tour promoting Actor, and will be playing the Metro on Sunday June 7th. Although I encourage everyone to check out St. Vincent in a live intimate setting (her opening slot for The National a few years ago blew me away), the real treat is the recent announcement that on Monday June 8th St Vincent will be part of the Downtown Sound series in Millennium Park. The Downtown Sound series offers up new and unique artist showcasing their music on Monday nights at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. Not only are the shows free, but also the beautiful backdrop of the city and Millennium Park create a memorable setting to the evening. Opening for St. Vincent is the Chicago-based group Allá, with
their unique medley of sounds ranging from Motown to Tropicalia.
The concert starts at 6:30pm, and is located downtown in the heart of Millennium Park. Make sure to check out this artist on the rise in a completely unique setting all while enjoying a lovely summer evening for free in Millennium Park.
