Local teen cancer fundraisers (and lacrosse fanatics), Millerstrong, are hosting the very first “Millerstrong Mingle” at Bethesda’s designated spot for buffalo wings and beer buckets, Wing Hub, on Saturday, June 6th. Running from 5 to 10 pm, the night’s festivities will include surprise guest bartenders (from amongst the area’s top LAX pro/ams), raffle prizes, and the musical stylings of local guitarist Brian Wilber – all in the name of raising money for local teens and young adults combating cancer.
But Saturday’s shindig is a mere warm-up compared to this summer’s main event: the second annual Millerstong Lacrosse Classic on August 1st at the South River High School Stadium in Edgewater, MD. The day-long doubleheader will see top-ranking college and pro lax players go head-to-head, while the rest of the family can enjoy the carnival they’ll be bringing along in tow. The event is being sponsored by Safeway, Coca-Cola and Warrior Lacrosse, the latter of which will be giving $5000 worth of sticks and equipment throughout the day.
