New York City is a place where many unique events tend to occur, from pillow fights in Union Square to barbecues that take over entire parks. So what could be missing from this eclectic mix of events? How about a full on bubble battle in the middle of Times Square! This Friday, June 12th, at 6:15pm, all ages, races, genders are invited to stock up on soap and armor, and join in on the bubbly fun that is based on Dr. Seuss’s famous Butter Battle Book.

The same folks that brought you the pillow fights are responsible for this massive bubble onslaught, which last year brought out roughly 1,500 people. After running amok in Times Square, hop back on the train and join the bubbles crew at the afterparty, aptly named Pop! and based in Brooklyn. While the Times Square showdown is free, the party will set you back a cool $10, not bad considering the line up of DJs and the full on light show included in the admission. Plus, it’s 18+, which is a nice touch for a club party. All the same, the Bubble Battle will cost you nothing but your dignity if you get soap in your eye, so what are you waiting for?
