Philadelphia is no stranger to having free and amazing concerts in it’s parks. So it was only natural for Penn Treaty Park to jump on the bandwagon. After all, since it has a wonderful view that overlooks the Philadelphia Water Front, it might just be the best setting for discovering new music. add it the fact that it hooks up very different music offerings throughout it’s 6 week run, and will be going on from 7-9pm, and it’s destined to be great.

The fun kicks off on July 15th with the salsa band Charanga, and before they play there will be a special salsa dance lesson. On July 22nd the John Clark Little Big Band will be jazzing it big band style. On July 29th The Black Twigs will be teaming up with Jack Rose for some bluegrass, and they will be Joined by Watery Love. On August 5th The War On Drugs, who have recently signed to Secretly Canadaian will be joining Hunter Gatherer for a big time indie rock show. On August 12th Porkroll Project and Third Degree will be cooking up a greasy pot of blues. and finally on August 19th Espers will be teaming up with The Oubliette Ensemble for some medieval and psychedelic folk.
