Every year R5 Productions host 2 Punk Rock Flea Markets as a fundraiser effort. All proceeds raised go to the purchase of necessary equipment and supplies to ensure that all ages shows continue to remain a reality at The First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia – mainly an annual payment for their liability insurance policy. Do not let the “name of the event” lead you to believe that it’s just punk records, clothes etc. – it’s a full on flea market with everything from furniture, to laptops / computers , to stereo equipment, to handmade apparel, to vegan treats, information from various non profit groups, book stores, artists selling their work, bicycles & skateboards and whatever else they can fit onto the ballroom floor.
But this year R5 is doing something unprecedented by having it two days in a row. Since it continues to grow in popularity, they figured that it would be the best way to make it comfortable for everyone involved. So the Starlight Ballroom will have fewer table than it has had at previous markets, but the days will be expanded upon. So it will be going on July 11th and 12th. You will still have to pay a $3 entry fee, but it will be good for both days.
While they have sold out all of their business tables, personal tables are still available. So if you have plenty of items that you’ve been meaning to unload and sell then you can purchase a half table for $45, or $65 for a full. Over all this is shaping to be the best Punk Rock Flea Market yet!
