Head to downtown Seattle on Sunday, June 28 for the most colorful parade of the year – Seattle Pride. Starting at 4th and Union at 11:00 am, the 2 1/2 hour parade put on by Seattle Out and Proud winds down 4th Ave. to Denny Way and ends with the 2009 Seattle PrideFest at the Seattle Center.
“The largest LGBT gathering in the Pacific NW is back at the Seattle Center – The Official Seattle Pride Festival! Dozens of performers including Shoshana Bean (Wicked, Hairspray), #1 Dance Artist Abigail, THEE Satisfaction, QBoy (UK), and 4 DJs spinning the fountain. 150 vendors, 10 restaurants, and 2 Redhook beer gardens at the Seattle Center from 11am-7pm, with programming starting immediately following the Official Seattle Pride Parade.”
Seattle Pride is actually more than just one day of parade and celebration. Check the Events section of the website, for dances, rallies, cruises, parties and more that run through the end of June. They also list events throughout the year.
So get out there and show your pride or show your support. Just don’t show up in a car if you expect to be able to park. Try the bus instead.
