Sorry for the radio silence, boys and girls. I’m currently on vacation in southern California (boo! hiss!) but I’ll be back in the Bay in a few days. Just soon enough, as it turns out, because there’s plenty of awesomeness coming up this week.

On Wednesday, Backroom Comedy returns to Bill McNally’s Irish Pub in Rockridge. If you’ve been following this blog, you know I’m a big fan of local comedy—and with good reason. The Bay Area is home to the best, brightest, and vulgarest. Backroom Comedy is a monthly event (last Wednesday of every month) hosted by Candy Churilla. In addition to Churilla, this month’s line-up is Ben Feldman (a Backroom Comedy regular), Howard Stone, Richard Kiss, Christian Reyes, and Natasha Muse.

The show starts at 8 p.m. and is free. (Yes, free!) Be sure to buy a couple drinks, though, because McNally’s is kind enough to support local comedy with a bitchin’ venue. By the way, Backroom Comedy is thusly named because it takes place in an actual backroom, which has some of the most bizarre wall decorations I’ve ever seen. It’s worth attending just for that. But the comedy’s great, too!
