Reminder: Tonight is the Final Movie of the Movies in Grant Park
Just a reminder that tonight is the last night for Movies in the Park at Butler Field in Grant Park.
Chicago loves to spend the summer outdoors, with free movies, festivals, and concerts. Since Fall is just around the corner, all those wonderful free events are wrapping up. The yearly movies in the park at Butler Field bring huge crowds each year, playing a variety of classic films. This year audiences have enjoyed everything from Duck Soup to Psycho.
The final movie will be the classic Oscar award winning 1982 comedy Tootsie. Directed by Sydney Pollack, the movie stars Dustin Hoffman as an unemployed (and difficult) actor who disguises himself as a woman to land a part. The humor is fresh and witty, and Hoffman’s performance is phenomenal.
The movie will start at sundown, but make sure to arrive very early. Many people head over to the field after work, so prime spots start filling in after 5. There are lawn chairs for rental, but for your best bet grab a blanket, grab a meal, and picnic with friends.
