Throughout the entire summer, Six Flags Great America has been open seven days a week, even on holidays. However, after the month of August, the park will only be open on weekends (with a few exceptions).
September is the perfect time for college kids and adults to head to Six Flags on the few weekdays it is open. All the little ones are in school, so the lines won’t be terribly long.
October may be one of the best times to go to Great America. The park is transformed into a labyrinth of haunted attractions for Fright Fest. A giant spider scales the American Eagle coaster, and ghastly ghouls follow you all over the park. There are also live action shows, a spooky parade and the faint sound of Michael Myers’ theme song playing throughout the park.
Monday, 10/12 (Columbus Day)
Saturday, 10/31 (Halloween)
November marks the end of Great America’s 2009 season. It is only open for one day this month.
