Good Vibrations Independent Erotic Film Festival Gets Bigger and Better

0

Greeting, fellow erotic film enthusiasts! Oh, don’t be shy. This is a shame-free zone. Besides, erotica of all sorts should be embraced and we’re lucky that places like Good Vibes help us do just that. Next month the Good Vibrations Independent Erotic Film Festival returns, and this time it’s not only a one-night event. Instead, there will be a week of sexually explicit, sex-positive, and just plain sexy entertainment.

Here’s what’s on the agenda—

Saturday, September 12: Kick-off Party at El Rio. A screening of Courtney Trouble’s “Speakeasy” and live music performances. Also, free prizes! The party starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $7.
Sunday, September 13: Blue Movie Night at Amnesia. Dr. Carol Queen hosts a look at vintage erotica, with some dirty puppets for good measure. The event starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $8.
Tuesday, September 15: “It’s Not What You Think!” Screening and Q&A at the Center for Sex & Culture. Check out Erin Palmquist’s documentary about BDSM culture, while enjoying corset models and cocktails. The movie begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10.
Wednesday, September 16: April Flores’ Love Toy Art Show/”Glamazons” DVD Release Party at Good Vibrations Polk Street Gallery. The title kind of says it all: there’s a lot going on here. The event is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and it’s free!
“The Devil in Miss Jones” at the Lumiere Theatre. Also on Wednesday, you can see the classic erotic film with a live appearance by Georgina Spelvin. The show starts at 10 p.m. Tickets are $10.
Thursday, September 15: The 2009 IXFF Independent Erotic Film Competition at the Castro Theatre. And of course, the event we’ve all been waiting for. I won’t go into too much detail about the competition—I’ll save that for a later post. Suffice it to say, erotic films will be screened, audience members will vote, and Peaches Christ will wow us all with her hosting skills. The pre-party is from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $10. The event begins at 8 p.m. A $10 ticket also gets you access to the after-party at Trigger.

Keep checking back here for more details! Meanwhile, get your tickets while they’re hott. You can buy them on the website.
