The 2009 Vendy Awards, September 26th at the Queens Museum of Art outdoors near the Unisphere in Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
There’s also a taste-off among three dessert finalists — Big Gay Ice Cream Truck, Wafels & Dinges, and Cupcake Stop.
The best part of this is that The Vendy Awards are a fundraiser to support the Street Vendor Project of the Urban Justice Center, which provides a voice for the thousands of people who sell food and merchandise on the streets of our city. The cost of each ticket ($80 if you buy in advance) is tax-deductible.
