Beer Summit Throws OctoberFest Party

0

Every year, Munich transforms itself into a bustling 16-day uproarious celebration, known around the world as—you guessed it—Oktoberfest. Thousands of staggering festival-goers gather to savor würstel and blaukraut, toast the artistry of Bavarian beer and enjoy traditional music and dancing.

Oh, but wait. There’s just one problem. This isn’t Germany. It’s Boston. Now, now, don’t fret; you can still raise a stein to celebrate the world’s most boisterous festival, thanks to a little Boston brewery known as Sam Adams—uhm, that’s sarcasm, of course.

Sam Adams 10th Annual Oktoberfest

Friday, Sept 11th at 5 p.m.

Friday OFest Reception includes 4 beers, your stein, live traditional German music, games, specialty beers, the ceremonial tapping of the keg and the one-and-only Jim Koch to kick it off.

Saturday, Sept 12th, starting at 12 p.m.

Saturday OctoberFest consists of 10 straight, happy hours of revelry, table games, overflowing steins of over 10 different styles of Sam Adams’ beer and live music.

Held at the Park Plaza Castle in downtown Boston, this is a seasonal event not to be missed. But hey, do you really need a reason to celebrate alongside other Bavarian-beer enthusiasts? I didn’t think so.

So, forget the red eye to Germany. Come celebrate and partake in traditional volkstümlich music and merriment at this year’s local OktoberFest Party .

Upside: At the end of the night, you don’t have to be fluent in German to hail a cab.

Downside: Don’t expect Jim Koch to show up in lederhosen!
