Given that Bethesda has just about as many worthwhile restaurants in a two-mile radius as all of Washington, DC, it looks like this year’s landmark 20th Annual Taste of Bethesda will be giving its next door neighbor’s highly successful Restaurant Week a run for its money…or lack thereof. With more more than fifty of the suburban city’s most prominent restaurants and eateries participating, everything — from sliders and sausages to crabs and crepes — will be going for cheap.

Running from 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday, October 3rd, the Taste of Bethesda is expected to draw upwards of 40,000 starving patrons to the Woodmont Triangle area adjoining the Bethesda Metro Center. Admission don’t cost a thing, but to sample the wares of the many, many on-site vendors, you’ll need “taste tickets” that run five bucks for a booklet of four redeemable stubs. (All of the day’s offerings, we’re told, will cost between one and four tickets.)

Throw in four stages of live entertainment and chow from some of the best dive bars, burger joints and cheese whiz dispensaries in the DC area and you’ve got yourself an afternoon of beef-induced lethargy to remember. But fear not, vegetarians: there is, apparently, one Bethesda shop that sells only flax-based foods. Who knew?

Check out the complete list of vendors and dishes below. For more information, visit the Taste of Bethesda’s official site.
