grease2009 marks the 22nd year radio station KEXP has been hosting the Shake the Shack Rockabilly Ball, and I have just one question. Should I go as Sandy or Rizzo?

The Rockabilly Ball is a three day event, with music starting at the Tractor Tavern at 8 pm each night, Thursday 9/24, Friday 9/25 and Saturday 9/26. Leon Berman, who has been hosting the Shake the Shack show for 20 years, also hosts the ball.

So dust off your dancing shoes, because the following performers really know how to bring the house down.

Thursday: The Debut of the Roy Kay Combo; Jukehouse Hounds; Billy Dwayne and the Creepers; and the Shake The Shack Rock’n Roll Party featuring: Vince Mira, Mark Pickerel, Christy McWilson, Billy Joe of the Dusty 45s and many more special guests!

Friday: The Star Devils; The Domestic Bumblebees; Captain Jeffrey and the Chumbuckets; Slim Sandy

Saturday: Starkweather Boys; Rocky Velvet; Hillbilly Casino; The Still Creek Brothers

Tickets are available on Ticketweb or at the Tractor Tavern. You can purchase tickets for individual days or you can get a Three Day Pass. Click the links for the day(s) you want. Thursday 9/24Friday 9/25Saturday 9/26. Individual days cost $16 and a 3 day pass will run you $45.

There will also be a Hot Rod Car Show on Saturday 9/26 at the Shanty Tavern in Lake City, from 10 am to 5 pm.

“The historic hydroplane “The Hurricane” will be on display, plus live music from Countryside Ride, Banzai Surf, Mama Tried, Bullet County and The Rainieros.
