Being a touring musician is hard work. Just ask any of the guys in We The Living, the Nashville via California via Wisconsin based pop band. When the boys aren’t recording and relaxing (which they seldom do) down in Tennessee, you can find them on the road, playing every sort of venue, from large stages to coffee shops to living rooms, and crashing on floors across the nation (and occasionally sleeping in their van as well). The independent band spends a lot of time connecting with their fans, and recently finished up their latest EP, Boom Forest-Vol 1, which you can download for free when you sign up for their mailing list on their band blog. The guys are also active on twitter and blogging from the road, as they travel and spread their pop-rock gospel around the country. Their music is dreamy and hook heavy, with smooth vocal delivery from singer John Paul, and their sound is akin to Mute Math, Snow Patrol, or Coldplay.
The trio recently hit the road again, and will be making a stop in Chicago this Friday at Subterranean. The band stated that “Chicago is our favorite city to play in the world,†so make sure you head out and give these guys a good audience for what will surely be a wonderful show. Even better is the fact that it’s an early show, so you’ll have time to go check out a show before heading out with friends Friday night. Sounds like the perfect way to start the weekend.
We The Living play this Friday, September 18th at Subterranean. The show starts at 6:30pm, and tickets are $10 in advance or $8 at the door.
