A Very Buddyhead Halloween at the Rock and Roll Hotel
Los Angeles anti-hippie/anti-Pitchfork/anti-crap provocateurs Buddyhead are throwing a Halloween eve party at the Rock and Roll Hotel and they’ve rounded up some of the best bands that DC has to offer to celebrate Samhain in style.
Atmospheric punk revisionists Caverns (who just happen to share a member with past Culture Mob interviewees Solar Powered Sun Destroyer) head up the bill, followed in short order by the as-of-yet unheard Office of Future Plans — a new band from J. Robbins of Jawbox, Burning Airlines and Government Issue fame and drummer Darren Zentek of mid-90s Dischord act Kerosene 454.
Imperial China (who are also playing a show with These Arms Are Snakes at DC9 next Thursday) and the synth-centric Bop Beetle round out the bill. Tickets for this October 30th show are only ten bucks and it promises to be a good time all around — if everyone over at Buddyhead has come to grips with the reality of a Noel-less Oasis yet. (Dudes are bummed.) Doors open at 8:30 and the show starts at 9:30. Happy hunting.
