I’ve never been to Folsom Street Fair before. There, I admitted it. This year, however, the fair is kind enough to fall on my birthday, which is as good an excuse as any to finally check it out. This Sunday, September 27, the largest leather event in the world (!) takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Bring your slave. Bring your assless chaps. Just don’t bring your kids, unless you really want to give them an early education. (Despite what the website claims, the chances of seeing some uncovered manparts are more than likely.)
The event occurs on—wait for it—Folsom Street, between 7th and 12th. What’s on the agenda? Well, according to the website, there will be over 250 exhibitors and vendors, which means you’re going to have to find some place to stash your wallet. Also, a dance floor, plenty of live music and alternative acts. And, of course, people watching! If having a cup of coffee and watching strangers go by is your idea of a good time, imagine how much more fun you’d have if all said strangers were in leather and on leashes. Amazing.
Check out the website for more details. If you see me at the fair, don’t hesitate to say hello. Or, you know, wish me a happy birthday. /shameless
