Second Show added for Sound Opinions screening of the Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense on IMAX
The Talking Heads legendary 1984 concert movie, Stop Making Sense, has been called by many as the greatest rock movie ever made. So it was no surprise when Sound Opinions, the popular WBEZ radio show that is all about music and is co-hosted by music writers Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot, announced they would be doing a screening of the movie at the IMAX on Navy Pier. There will also be a Q&A after the film.
The movie, directed by directed by Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs, Married to the Mob and Rachel’s Wedding), was the first film to use state-of-the-art digital technology, and now you can hear it in 12,000 watt digital surround sound. Ah, the beauty of sonic technology.
The first screening sold out, but due to popular demand, they’ve added a second screening at 10pm, Thursday October 1st. Advance tickets are $11, and $10 for WBEZ members or students. You can also purchase discounted parking when you buy your ticket as well.
