The sheer number of free, cheap and really cheap entertainment options in Seattle is staggering when you stop to think about it, and the Seattle Center has always been a great venue option for the budget conscious. In particular, the Festál series of free festivals is a fine example of free fun (and alliteration).

This weekend, on Sunday, October 4, the CroatiaFest will be held from noon until 8:00 pm in the Center House.

Explore the “Jewel of the Adriatic” at CroatiaFest and discover what makes Croatia such a vital and distinctive region of the world.

Explore Croatia through folk dance ensembles, musicians and visiting artists, crafts, children’s activities and more.

Browse in the Croatian marketplace filled with coffee, spices and foods, jewelry and apparel, books and more or try Croatian specialties offered at Food Court restaurants.

The festival theme, “Croatian Women: Tradition Bearers,” highlights women’s place in this rich and distinctive culture.

There will also be a Dance Party and folkdance lessons on Saturday, October 3 from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. Grupa ZRINSKI from Los Angeles will be there and it’s all free.

Cabbage rolls, lamb kabobs, plum brandy, coffee and walnut rolls, anyone? I’m there.
