Street food trucks gather for Mobile Chowdown on Saturday
Skillet. Maximus-Minimus. Parfait. Marination Mobile. Gert’s. El Camion. Kaosamai. Dante’s Inferno Dogs. The litany for the lovers of food on wheels – and after eating at these mobile meal makers, you too will become one of us.
If you haven’t eaten at one or any of these food trucks, you have an incredible opportunity to try all of them on one day in the same place. Saturday, October 10 is the day for Mobile Chowdown, and the Interbay neighborhood is the place. All the trucks will come together from 11 am to 3 pm so you can sample tacos, burgers, ice cream, thai food, barbecue, pork in all its glory, korean tacos, hot dogs and more.
Get a burger with bacon jam from Skillet. Do not get a burger without bacon jam. You must try bacon jam. The apricot sorbet from Parfait tastes exactly like creamy, frozen apricots. I’m partial to any yellow curry dish from Kaosamai. You can get a hot dog from Dante’s with or without cream cheese. Where do you stand on the cream cheese issue? Does any of this whet your appetite?
Understand that street food in Seattle is still a fairly new phenomenon. We need more. Go show your support.
