We all know that exciting things are happening exclusively online (CultureMob is one of them!). Did you know that public television has been creating television programs that are broadcast exclusively on the Internet? WNET Channel 13 has two such series. The City Concealed reveals the following 9 little-known corners of New York City:
North Brother Island Bird Sanctuary
Freshkills Park Project (that was the former garbage dump)
United Palace Theater (“It’s sort of Neo-Classical Cambodian, with influences of Hindu, Mayan, and Moorish architecture. Gilded and covered in red velvet.”)
Weeksville (the African-American community founded in the 1800s)
Fulton Ferry Hotel
Brooklyn Navy Yard
Staten Island Sculptures
Green-Wood Cemetary
Newtown Creek

You can watch the entire City Concealed series on the Channel 13 site.
A newer ongoing series is called “New York On The Clock,” and profiles individuals that make the city work.
