The 2009 Seattle Home Show 2, from October 22 – 25 at the Qwest Field Event Center, wants you to “Get Your Green On.”

The four day showcase will feature everything from alternative heating and energy efficient appliances to sustainable landscapes, and just about everything will be geared toward living a greener lifestyle.

A model home by ideabox is being touted as “the next big thing in small living,” and at 1,250 square feet “features green construction, urban style and energy efficiency.” And that just begins to describe the new fortino model that’s making its public debut at the home show. This hip and green company specializes in prefab homes that are anything but your typical doublewide trailer. Don’t worry, though, it won’t be the only model home in attendance if prefab isn’t your thing.

Local chefs will be on hand for cooking demonstrations and wine tastings, and of course the home show will be full of mouth watering and eco friendly kitchen ideas.

Each of the four days will be packed with seminars like Going Green Without the Greenbacks, Prolonging the Life of Your Roof, Maximize Your Closet Space, Ten Steps to a Quality Remodel, Designing and Building Your Custom Cedar Home, Carbon Smart Technologies, and How a Home Performance Audit Can Save Your Life.

Show Hours:
Thursday, October 22 – 10 am – 6 pm
Friday, October 23 – 10 am – 8:30 pm
Saturday & Sunday, October 24-25 – 10 am – 6 pm

Tickets are $9 for adults and if you want to attend on more than one day, just register on your way out on the first day and you can go back on another day for free. You can buy tickets online and recieve free parking from BECU or at the Qwest Field Box Office. If you have 4 or more people in your vehicle you can park free, otherwise there are plenty of parking lots in the area. The website has a list.
