Here are some things I like: live music, indie actors, “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist,” (sadly defunct), OKCupid, indie pop rock. A random assortment, to be sure, but I’ve finally found a band that unites my diverse interests: Bishop Allen. And it just so happens that they’re playing at the Rickshaw Stop on November 9.

Which covers the live music, of course. But what about the rest? So glad you asked! Bishop Allen’s Justin Rice and Christian Rudder have both appeared in indie films. They were featured in “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist” and also performed the song “Middle Management,” the film’s lead single. I’ve been a fan of Christian Rudder for a long time, because he helped create humor site (which defined my middle school years) and OKCupid (which continues to define my adult dating life). The music itself is great—that would be the indie pop rock. It’s light. It’s fun. It’s catchy as all hell.

So come join me in checking out my new favorite band. (No, really, I’m fickle!) The show begins at 7:30, and tickets are $15. You can purchase them on the Rickshaw Stop website.
