John Hodgman to Dazzle With His Wits at Herbst Theatre

0

Hello, all. I hope you had a fun, safe, and gorge-tastic Halloween. Now that you’re recovering from your hangovers (alcohol or candy-induced), I thought I’d bring you some exciting news. “Resident Expert” John Hodgman is appearing at the Herbst Theatre on November 7. If the name doesn’t instantly ring a bell, you’re probably not as big a nerd as I am. But here are his claims to fame: regular commentator on “The Daily Show,” author of “The Areas of My Expertise” and “More Information Than You Require,” and the PC on the “I’m a Mac/I’m a PC” commercials.

But don’t let those ads fool you—Hodgman is no technophobic schlub. He’s actually an incredibly smart and interesting guy. And for $20, you can check him out in conversation with Paul Lancour. Special bonus! The event begins at 8 p.m., but there will be a cocktail hour (or, I guess, hour-and-a-half) at the Herbst starting at 6:30. Enjoy the “Resident Expert” cocktail. Or enjoy several and start believing you actually are an expert on something. The possibilities are limitless.

For tickets, head to City Box Office Tickets. And check out some of the other stuff coming up; much of it is veritably nifty!

EDIT: Hodgman himself informed me via Twitter (insert flailing) that he will be appearing alongside Merlin Mann. Merlin doesn’t play a computer on television, but he does have an awesome blog—among other projects. Also, his name is Merlin. Come on!
